Options: Internal Cornice

In some instances, the build-up of the flat roof construction can create a deep internal upstand in which the roof lantern sits above. As such, it may be appropriate to relieve this plain expanse with a decorative internal cornice. This pretty timber detail can elevate an otherwise ordinary upstand into something much more refined in appearance.

In addition, should one opt for blinds, this cornicing will hide the majority of their build-up (when drawn in the closed position). Further it can also be used to house rope lighting. This can create a fantastic effect particularly at night time, lighting up the roof lantern in all its glory.
