RIDGE-MOUNTED ROOF VENTILATORS*

The most effective and widely used method is to include a ridge-mounted casement-type window within the roof lantern assembly. The vents high performance aluminum structure makes it lightweight and yet extremely strong, while heat loss and condensation are prevented by the use of thermally broken sections. Double Q-Lon weather seals between the vent's lid and base ensure optimum sealing, and a built in weather bar and internal drainage system provide maximum protection from the elements. Electric operation is by a discrete chain actuated opener and a wall mounted switch. Electric operation may be enhanced to include a variable thermostatic control, with rain sensor setting and a manual override. Electrical connection is by others. Manual operation (via hand pole) also available.

PASSIVE VENTILATORS

Passive ventilation (air exchange from inside to outside only) can be achieved via a set of operable trickle vents (open / close) that are an integral addition to the roof plate (the base of the lantern). A fine mesh stops any insects from entering and an external cowl prevents rain ingress.
